Help! I can’t decide!

Don’t you just hate it when you type something out that’s really long and took you a while only to find it gets deleted before you can post/send/save it?

Yeah, that’s just what happened to me. So I’m keeping it short and to the point this time.

I found these great baskets at Michael’s today (totally NOT what I went in there for!) at 70% off and they are perfect for inside the changing table that was handed down to us. It has cabinet doors instead of drawers so I needed something to keep it organized. The baskets are brighter than the fabric that will be on the wall, but because the inside of the changing table is so dark, it livens things up a bit and makes me smile (I do love me some color!). I found the perfect sized baskets for the top shelf, but can’t decide on which ones for the bottom shelf.

That’s we’re YOU come in! I’d like for you to leave me a comment below with your favorite option and the one that you think will be the most practical.

Here is a picture with the flash so you can see their overall shape and inside the cabinet a bit better.

Option 1 (image below)
Wide bottom rectangle ones that are a bit shorter.

Option 2 (image below)
Rectangle ones that taper towards the bottom but are a bit taller

Option 3 (image below)
One of each: one short rectangle and one tall tapered

Thanks for your help!

A little paint goes a long way

I love my new wall color.

I don’t love the color of the top of the baseboards.

The bottom part of the baseboards are bright gloss white. The top flat ridge is a masking tape color and now with the bluish walls it looks really dirty. See (the left half is original paint color that has been cleaned and the right half is fresh paint)…

So a little fresh coat of paint just along the top ridge (and on any other chipped parts and holes) and it looks completely different! See how much more beige outlets look? They stand out a lot. I’d like to replace those with white ones. But until then this is MUCH better!

I heart Craigslist

I love rocking chairs. Growing up we used to have a nice large one with the woven wicker seat and back. Not sure what happened to that thing.

While talking to my mom the other day about the nursery, we talked about rockers/gliders. She reminisced about how much rocking soothed me (and her) when I was little. Any time there’s a public rocker, you can find her testing it out.

There are also gliders in the nursery at church and I serve in there once a month (getting my baby fix!) so I know how invaluable they are. Those things are (usually) miracle workers! I rocked two babies asleep in them this morning!

So the glider was definitely on my list of “must get” for the nursery.

I went to Babies R Us and sat in a couple. I liked the wooden one that reclined and had the foot stool attached to the ottoman because I’m short like that and need my feet to touch something since they don’t usually touch the ground! It also needed to be big enough to fit my 6’1″ husband. Of course they are mega expensive though.

So off to Craigslist I go! I’ve been searching for a few weeks now. Missed one that was just what I wanted because my husband was not included during my research of price, size, brand, etc. So no to that one, but we promptly went out (at his suggestion-isn’t he great!) to have him test them out and get his opinion too. We also went to Buy Buy Baby. Turns out they have a lot more to try out and sit in than BRU. Much more impressed with that baby store. Plus I’ve heard they have a better return policy.

Anyway, another one actually turned up on Craigslist today! The exact brand, size and color! And for a great price! The wood is espresso so now we have three different wood colors in the room, but hey, they were either free or cheap so I’m not complaining! It’s also more of a corduroy fabric instead of the microfiber that is currently out. Daniel actually doesn’t like the microfiber, so I’m very pleased we found one that doesn’t need to be recovered.

New Nursery Idea

While my sister was in town I was showing her my paint chips and we were talking about some of my favorite ideas on Pinterest. That’s when I showed her this:

https://i0.wp.com/2.bp.blogspot.com/-QZ_UhYlGcJY/TqSm0e9imoI/AAAAAAAABBc/Y9qJwOq_yEg/s1600/crib+wall+3+small.jpg

And we both agreed that was a better option with the crib and dressers I was given. So I checked with the hubby and after a little negotiating and compromise on my end it was agreed upon! Not sure if we’ll add the name or not, but I love the mixed patten and colors….and we all know I love circles too!

So I was off to the not-your-typical-fabric-store the first chance I got and this is what I came home with…

Now to pick a paint color. Again.
